Redesigning a Reliable, User-Centric E-Commerce Web Experience in Singapore
When trust and functionality collide, the result can either elevate or hinder a brand. Dashcam Singapore faced this reality: a website that struggled to convert curious visitors into loyal customers. I saw an opportunity to redesign the platform into something more than a website that seamlessly mixed usability with credibility, creating a trustworthy, user-first experience that could redefine the brand’s digital identity.

A Call for Change
Dashcam Singapore's website faced challenges in converting visitors into customers and building trust with its audience. The reliance on external platforms like Shopee and Carousell for sales created a disjointed user journey, which impacted overall customer experience and retention. The website itself suffered from unclear navigation, poorly positioned CTAs, and a mobile-unfriendly design. Recognizing its critical role in the sales funnel, I took on the redesign challenge to create a site that would not only boost conversions but also establish Dashcam Singapore as a reliable and innovative brand.
Understanding the Problem
The original website presented several key pain points:
Poor navigation and an unclear CTA structure that failed to guide users effectively.
A robotic tone of voice that felt disconnected from users.
Mobile optimization issues that hindered usability on smaller screens.
A lack of credibility and trust-building elements like testimonials or FAQs to address customer concerns.

Since, I collaborated closely with the client, who had conducted preliminary data analysis showing declining conversion rates. To validate these findings and dig deeper into user needs, I conducted interviews with five potential users. Their feedback revealed a need for:
A search bar for better product discovery.
Multilanguage support to cater to Singapore's diverse population.
A clear and intuitive user flow for purchasing and accessing installation services.
How might we create a trustworthy, seamless E-Commerce platform that boosts sales while delivering an intuitive, customer-focused experience?
My Dual Perspective : Bridging Product Design and Marketing
As both a product designer and a former digital marketing experience, I approached this project with a unique perspective. While my design background ensured the website was functional and visually appealing, my marketing experience guided strategic decisions, such as emphasizing differentiation and aligning with customer desires. I focused on creating a brand-aligned website that would not only attract users but also convert them into loyal customers through engaging features and clear communication.
Research and Insights
User interviews revealed that they often found the old website forceful and lacking user-friendliness. Moreover, competitor analysis highlighted the need to differentiate Dashcam Singapore through a unique value proposition, particularly its dashcam installation services. To address these insights, I focused on making the website more reliable and customer-friendly while highlighting key services.
Enhanced Navigation and CTAs: Improved menu structure and prominently placed CTAs to guide users smoothly through the site.
Mobile Optimization: Redesigned layouts for seamless use on smaller screens, catering to on-the-go users.
Credibility Features: Added testimonials, FAQs, and installation service highlights to build trust and answer common concerns.
Streamlined Checkout Path: Initially linked to Shopee and Carousell but with plans for an independent e-commerce CMS system.
Modern Visuals: Introduced a stylish, reliable tone that aligned with Dashcam Singapore’s branding.

Biggest Challenge : Creating connection
One major challenge was balancing functionality with emotional connection. I ensured the design conveyed Dashcam Singapore’s reliability while making it easier for users to navigate the site. To address this, I focused on designing features that bridged these gaps. For example, I prioritized highlighting the installation service in the navigation bar, making it easier for users to understand their options. Additionally, I integrated a FAQ section prominently to address common concerns about installation and product usage.
The Impact of the Redesign
Although the project is still in progress, the initial redesign focuses on a streamlined, profile-style website with five key pages. This foundation will evolve into a full ecommerce CMS platform in the future. By creating a more intuitive and engaging experience, we aim to measure success through metrics like increased sales, reduced bounce rates, and improved CSAT scores. Soft launch activities and usability testing will validate these improvements.
Proud Moments So Far
I’m particularly proud of combining creative visuals with a user-focused structure. Adding elements like testimonials, a search bar, and multilanguage options reflects the brand’s commitment to customer satisfaction. Collaborating with the marketing team allowed me to ensure alignment between design and business goals, leveraging my dual expertise for a successful outcome.
